To preserve the unique character of Thorncrest Village, Building Bylaws were adopted by the then City of Etobicoke which govern the construction of homes in our neighbourhood. The objectives of the bylaws are to create a neighbourhood where building size, height and set-back from neighbours are limited to create an environment which provides a country feel to the neighbourhood by maximizing green space.
The bylaws, in combination with the incorporation of a park, islands of greenery and boulevards within Thorncrest, have resulted in a neighbourhood which is highly valued by all of our residents.
The green space within Thorncrest is privately owned indirectly by the homeowners who belong to the Thorncrest Homes Association.
We will be publishing a copy of all variance requests in this section to keep our residents informed.
